Baculovirus expression refers to a method of recombinant protein production in insect cells using baculoviruses. These viruses infect insect cells, and their genome can be manipulated to contain foreign DNA encoding the gene of interest. The virus is then used to infect cultured insect cells, which produce and secrete the desired protein. This method is particularly useful for producing large amounts of complex eukaryotic proteins that are difficult or impossible to express in prokaryotes.
