How to synchronize slow growing bacterial species of
Cyanobacteria, Thiobacilli, Mycoplasma?

Answer Posted / Shashank Shukla

Synchronization of slow-growing bacteria can be challenging. For Cyanobacteria and Thiobacillus, light/dark cycles or temperature shifts are often used to induce cell cycle synchronization. For Mycoplasma, which lack a cell wall and thus antibiotics cannot be used for synchronization, techniques such as serum shock, heat shock, or flow cytometry-based sorting can be employed.
