To give clearance to a spare feeder, follow these steps: 1) Confirm that the existing load is properly transferred or isolated. 2) Disconnect the spare feeder from its source and verify that it's open-circuited. 3) Check for any residual voltage on the spare feeder using a voltmeter to ensure it's safe to work on. 4) Perform any necessary maintenance, testing, or installation work on the spare feeder. 5) Reconnect the spare feeder once the work is complete and ensure that the appropriate protective devices are in place.
