The primary constituents of a nutrient solution for a hydroponic system are macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur) and micronutrients (iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron, molybdenum, and chloride). In addition to these essential nutrients, hydroponic solutions may also contain buffers, wetting agents, and other additives.
