Rhizopus is a type of fungus with a filamentous structure known as hyphae. The hyphae of Rhizopus grow by apical growth, extending from the tip of each hyphae. These hyphae branch and intertwine to form mycelium, which can colonize various substrates. The septate nature of the hyphae allows for compartmentalization within the fungus.
