Do plants benefit from incandescent lighting?

Answer Posted / Asheesh Chaudhry

Incandescent lights can provide some benefit to certain types of houseplants, but they are not ideal for most indoor plants. Incandescent bulbs emit a warm, red light spectrum that is closer to natural sunlight than fluorescent bulbs, making them better for foliage plants and succulents. However, their low light intensity and higher heat output can make them less effective and potentially harmful to other plants. LED lights with full-spectrum bulbs are generally preferred for indoor plant growth.
