A coordination covalent bond is a type of bond in which a central metal atom or ion is surrounded by several ligands, which can be ions or molecules. The metal atom donates electron pairs to the ligands, resulting in the formation of multiple covalent bonds. These bonds are also known as coordinate covalent bonds.
