The yeast two-hybrid (Y2H) system is a powerful tool for identifying protein-protein interactions. However, it can sometimes produce false positive or false negative results due to several reasons such as non-specific interactions, autoactivation by bait proteins, or loss of activation domain function. Additionally, the Y2H system may not always correctly predict in vivo interaction behavior.
