Describe the Periscope?

Answer Posted / gulshan kumar

Periscope:-It is a device for viewing objects which are above the eye level of the observer, or are placed in such a way that direct vision is obstructed. In its simplest form it consists of a long tube, but at right angles at two places. At each bend a right angled prism is so situated that by total internal reflection at the longest faces, light is turned through an angle 90oC by each prism. Thus light from a viewed object enters the observer’s eye in a direction parallel to but below the original direction of the object.
