Why is it easier to swim in sea water than in the river water?
Answer Posted / priyadarshini basu
Sea water has a density of 1.026 g/cc due to presence of salt in it.
River water has density 1 g/cc.
Upthrust =v*d*g.
Volume of body immersed remains same.Acceleration due to gravity also is same.Since density of sea water is relatively more than that of river water,therefore loss in weight in sea water is more than that of river water.Thus it can swim more easily than in river water.
