How to prepare ppm solution of Nacl form its salt?
Answer Posted / mahesh ashok bhiungade
If we want to 100 ppm of sodium solution from NaCl Salt.
Mol. Wt. Of NaCl is 58.5gm per mole
i.e Na+Cl =23+35.5
It means 1gm Na is present in 58.5/23=2.54g NaCl Salt
we know 1 ppm = mg/ 1000ml=0.001g/1000ml.
That means 1gm / 1000ml is 1000ppm
so 2.54gm NaCl (1gm Na)/1000ml = 1000ppm Na
But we Have 100ppm Na solution
2.54 g Nacl have 1000 ppm Na solution
That means 0.254gm NaCl have 100 ppm Na Solution.
