when a monochromatic light of intensity I* incident on a absorbing medium then intensity of tranmitted light l is given by the concentration of medium sloution and length of absorbing path .

Or

where A is absorbance of medium .
C is concentration of solution through which light is passed .
L is length of path trough which light passed.
