why does secondary growth not occur in monocot plants?
Answer Posted / abhay raj
The major role in secondary growth is of pro-cambium... Which forms primary xylem, primary phloem, and cambium(leads to secondary growth) in Dicots ...... While in case of monocots the pro-cambium is completely used up in formation of primary xylem and phloem... And cambium is not formed hence no secondary growth occurs
