Geometrical Isomerism occurs in Alkenes only but not in
Alkanes and Alkynes.
Why?
Answer Posted / zaf afridi
Alkynes don't show geometrical isomersim cos there are not enough subsistuents that can distinguish for geometrical isomerism(cis and trans )
In Alkenes on applying heat C-C bond change their position and upon cooling their rotation gets restricted
In Alkanes there is no restriction so they can rotate freely i think
