Two types of ups are used. one type is on line ups another one is off line ups....off line ups tell and asked inverter. Off line ups function in AC mains direct to load at same time battery is charging help to battery charger mains supply is failure time is stored energy conversion to DC to AC in load side.... Off line ups switching time is more then 20 Ms......, On line ups function is Mains on time convert to AC to DC supply stored in battery than same time invert the DC to AC supply in load side. Mains failure time battery input is cutoff
output is going on in the load online ups switching time is less than 10ms....
