We know ratings always depends upon temperature. But temperature always depends on the losses..
We know transformer having only two losses that is core losses and copper losses... we know core losses also known as constant losses because it depends upon voltage and cu losses also known as variable losses because of it depends upon load current...from these two losses we only knows current and voltage.. so we are using VA rating.. For large transformer we we are using MVA ratings
