What is difference between FID and TCD in gas chromatography

FID detector is suitable for hydrocarbons but TCD also known as katherometer is suitable for organic and inorganic sustances.we can not detect water,carbondioxide and carbon monoxide using FID but using TCD we can detect all the compounds.
