what is the meaning(definition)of EN grade of steel and also tell whats the full name of EN?

Answer Posted / stub

The problem is there are two EN systems.

The European Number system in the format 1.XXXX

The EN 'emergency numbers' were meant as a short-term fix for British manufacturers in WW2. Each manufacturer had their own proprietary steels, but there was desperate need for a consistent system during a time of shortage.

That the system is still widely used well over sixty tears later is typically British.

C The specification calls furnace shall be calibtated within +/-14 deg. C The Heat Chart shows minimum temperature for normalising 900 to 920 Deg. C, but maximum temperature 960-990 Deg. C Tempering 780+/-20 Deg. C is within limits and accepted. Casting having integral test bars, heat trated along with castings passed in chemical znalysis and mechanical properties. Since normalising maximum temperature is not meeting specification, where castings can be salvaged or renormalised and retempered to meet specification.
