example using m3 for 100m3
1:2:3 for 100 m3
1+2+3= 6
cement: 1/6*100 = 16.67 m3
Sand: 2/6*100 = 33.33 m3
Aggregates: 3/6*100= 50 m3
therefore cement =16.67*1600(density of OPC)
= 26672kg/50=534bags)
sand = 33.33* 1400 (density of sand)
=46662kg/1000= 46.66tons
Aggregates= 50*1200 (density of aggregates)
=60000kg/1000= 60 tons
now add 40% for shrinkage
cement 534*40%= 213.6 TOTAL= 214+534= 748 bags
sand= 46.66*40%= 18.664 TOTAL= 46.66+18.66= 65.32tons
Aggregates= 60*40%= 24 TOTAL 24+60=84 tons
