why we are taking 89ml concentrated HCL for preparing 1N HCL
Answer Posted / jyoti temkar
Actual strength of commercial HCl is 36%.
Molecular wt of HCl is 36.5
Density is 1.18 g/ml
So wt of HCl for 1 M is 36.5/(36/100) for 1000 ml
As volume = mass/ density,
Volume of HCl for 1M Strength in 1000 ml will be
36.5*100/(36*1.18)
=89 ml
