Why dc supply is used for closing and tripping coil of ht
breakers. What happen if we use only ups ac supply only.

hey friends.....I agreed ur ans but I feel one more thing...if we use AC supply to HT system....see you know well sign wave when wave going upper side then down....when wave coming down side you have to see 0 volt but HT tripping or closing coils or contactor pick up time not sufficiently working on there. it not working properly so you found there electrical damages. that's cause DC supply using in HT system. cause DC is directly pick up to coils.........if you are satisfied to my answer you mailed me ganesh.yeole89@gmail.com.......mob no. 09579853838

I have an existing old MCCB. ABB Model SACE, the rating are: Ue = 660 volts, Iu =1250 Amps, 3 poles, Ith (max) =800 amps at 45 deg C. I need a circuit breaker for my 3 phase motors, 380 volts 60 hz. the supplier required the minimum ampacity of the breaker to be 911 amps. can i use this breaker with rating of Iu =1250 amps but Ith = 800amps maximum?
