Can we create a report in cognos BI without a Package? i.e.
without framework manager? If so how? I have been asked this
question twice..i think this feature is available in cognos
10 version..not very sure....Could anybody highlight?

Hi Yunus,
Here the requirement is without FM..i.e. without the package
...so if we use the sql query..like for eg. we do select *
from _____??? ultimately we will have to reference a data
item i.e. the package, we don't want this.
And yes we can import excel through ODBC after doing system
dsn settings and all but again we do that in the framework
manager while importing the data source... the question
asked was can we do it independently in report studio with
no acess to FM or the package..if so how..can you let me
know the detailed steps if there is such an option available
because i don't think there is any as far as i know..pls
confirm!!
