Can anyone of you explain me the below statement.

"A solution used for lock escalation in past jobs have been
to have the jobs take an explicit lock on the partition
which prevents lock escalation."

How do i take lock on the partition level, what would be
the definition for it. I googled but couldnt get any

i tried to copy some records from microsoft excel to as-400 physical file through "Bosanova" emulation. Out of 14000 records only 12000 records copies and subsequently programe started to hang.
