What is the difference between Spectroscopy and
spectrophotometry,What are the applications?
Answer Posted / himani
Spectroscopy is the interation of electromagnetic radiation
with a chemical or physical species and can also refer to
the energy involved. It is what is happening.
Spectrometry refers to the technique used and how
spectroscopy is measured. It can also include other
techniques such as mass spectrometry where there is energy
but no light.
So you can say you are experimenting with ultraviolet
spectroscopy using ultraviolet spectrometry.
