a)In 1796, Edward Jenner, a doctor in Berkeley,
Gloucestershire, rural England, discovered that immunity to
smallpox could be produced by inoculating a person with
material from a cowpox lesion.First Vaccine for smallpox in
1798.
B)After the success of vaccination in preventing smallpox
1798, scientists thought to find a corollary in
tuberculosis by drawing a parallel between bovine
tuberculosis and cowpox and the BCG vaccine was first used
in humans in 1921.
C)There are two vaccines currently recommended by the WHO
for the prevention of typhoid.1) oral Ty21a vaccine 1917
Typhoid vaccine (parenteral) (sold as Vivotif Berna) and
the injectable Typhoid polysaccharide vaccine,it was first
licensed in the US in 1994 (sold as Typhim Vi by Sanofi
Pasteur and Typherix by GlaxoSmithKline).
D)First DTP used in Human is in 1940.
