What is the difference between torsional strain and steric
hinderance?
Answer Posted / p.kaviarasan
bond angle difference is there.steric hindrence would
increase the bond angle.but bond angle decreases with
increase in torsional strain.
for example, smaller cyclic compounds having larger strain.
ex:cyclopropane
Larger cyclic compounds having smaller strain.
ex: cyclohexane
