marker conferring resistance to tetracycline. How would you

By growing them in a media containing tetracycline.
If gene is present, the bacteria will resist the tetracycline
and will easily grow in the media.
If gene is absent,the bacteria wont be able to resist it and
will die, hence no growth will be seen on the media.
