from which formula we select a capacitor rating?
Answer Posted / dhinakaran.s
capacitance is the ability of a body to hold an electrical
charge. Capacitance is also a measure of the amount of
electrical energy stored (or separated) for a given
electric potential.
Capacitance is given by C = Q/V farad.
The SI unit of capacitance is the farad; 1 farad is 1
coulomb per volt.
In parallel plate capacitor,
C=εA/d farad.
where
ε=ε0*εr
C is the capacitance;
A is the area of overlap of the two plates;
εr is the relative static permittivity (sometimes called
the dielectric constant) of the material between the plates
(for a vacuum, εr = 1);
ε0 is the electric constant (ε0 ≈ 8.854×10−12 F m–1); and
d is the separation between the plates.

When we have earthing mesh or underground earthing network in industrial plants, weather we have NT-S or NT-C-S kind of earthing system, so eventually weather we must use 4 or 5 wire in 400 volt level (For example 3×150+70 mm2 or 5×150 mm2) in this connection I would like to know exactly the paragraph of IEC or IEEE number

HELLO EVERYONE, I RECENTLY HAVE FOUND ONE PROBLEM, I WAS TAKING NO LOAD TRIAL OF AN HT MOTOR 920 MOTOR , 1440 RPM , 6.6 KV, WITH AUTO TRANSFORMER. AT 450 V, LOAD WAS 40 AMP AND SPEED WAS 250 RPM. BUT AS WE INCREASE VOLTAGE FROM 450 TO 480V, LOAD BECOME 41 AND SPEED REDUCED TO SOME RPM . SO WHICH PHENOMENON ACTED HERE FOR REDUCING SPEED.?? AND IS IT HAPPENING ALWAYS OR IT IS RARE? I ALSO HAVE FACED SUCH PROBLEM WITH FEW LT MOTOR ALSO.
if in 3-phase system voltage=440V,frequency=60Hz, current=400A. then if it is single phase then current=? and if it is single phasing then current=?
