why we step down voltage level from 33kv to 11kv and 11kv
to 415v.Instead we can step down voltage from 33kv to 415v
directly using single transformer.

a)in a 33/11 kv transformer has more current on secondary.if
it is 33/.415 kv much more current in secondary .so
conductors on secondary should be designed to 415v ,and for
a large current.
But if it is 33/11kv transformer they will be distributed
to various 11/.415 kv transformers.so current capacity of
conductors are decreased.

Hello everyone, somebody knows what is a "surplice power" ? The hole phrase is: "This rating is appropriate for a generator set paralleled with an infinite bus e.g. a national electrical supply network or grid where the generator set is run at 100% load, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and any surplice power is exported into the grid" Thanks in advance.
