a backroungd job is running...it should have finished in
30min but it is runing for long one day...if you check the
process in sm50 it is running and if you check the pid in
task manager it is running....it is not hanged and job log
does not have error...what will you do to troubleshoot it
and how will you convince the particular job owner for
killing and rescheduling ?

Hi,
First check whether the job is active or not in the SM37.
If the job is activem,we need to check in SM50 or SM66
whereas program is running or not.If running for long, we
need to check in the coressponding work process log file
(dev_*).May be long running program is waiting for some
other application(check in SM50 or SM66). And check in the
DB status and whether R#trans working fine. Some time DB
hangs, all the jobs are running for long time.
