When a glass cylinder is filled with water and a piece of
thick paper is placed at the mouth and the cylinder is
inverted, the paper dies not fall. Why ?
Answer Posted / muhammad zahid
it is not because of the pressure of paper dies . by
pouring some water into the cylinder , the amount of air
inside it decreases it means atmospheric pressure inside
the cylinder decreases. whereas the outer atmospheric
pressure remains the same and greater than the internal
pressure. due to this fact the paper dies stick with the
cylinder.
