Enantiomers exhibit qulitative and quntitative differences in
the pharmacological activity.

(a)The biologicall active compounds are called
eutomers, and the inactive ones are called distromers.
(b) Distromers can exhibit un expected adverse
reactions, antagonistic activities or toxic effects.
(c) Even if their adverse reactions are not
drastic, the distromers have to be metabolised,and this
represents an unnecessary burden for the organism.
