Gram Staining is the process by which the gram +ve (bacteria having more peptidoglycan content) like S.aureus , Baclli etc are differentiated from Gram -ve bacteria (having lipid bi layer & less or no peptidoglycan content)like E.coli , entreobacter etc,
Gram +ve bacteria appear blue coloured while gram negative appear pink coloured when viewed by microscope.
