A TV set, with a marked price of Rs.14,000 was sold for
Rs.11,214 after two successive discounts. If the first
discount was 11%, what was the second discount?
Answer Posted / rajesh mistry
Total Discount 14000-11214 = 2786
So, 2786 = 11% of 14000 + X% of 14000
(let assume X be a second discount rate)
2786 = 1540 + 140 X
1246 = 140 X
There For X= 8.9
There For Second Discount Rate = 8.9%
