what's the function of amphipathic protein ?

Answer Posted / madhuraka

amphipathic proteins are those which have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic parts.
these proteins are mainly found in plasma membrane as integral membrane proteins.
the hydrophobic region forms the membrane spanning part by hydrophobically interacting with the fatty acid interior of lipid bilayer.
the hydrophilic part remains in aqueous inside or outside of cell.
receptor proteins and cell signalling proteins are examples of this class.
