D-Amino acids are found in plants and microorganisms.They
are howerver, not present in the mammalian proteins. but
they are regurarly taken in diet and metabolise in the
body. D-aa OXIDASE convert them to alfa-keto acids and it
undergo transamination tobe converted to L-amino acids
which participate in various metabolisms.
