Hydrogen Ion ?

Answer Posted / pradeepsamantaray

no of p e n
atomic hydrogen 1 1 0
heavy hydrogen 1 1 1
hydrogen ion(cation)1 0 0

The atomic hydrogen and the heavy hydrogen difers only by a
neutron. They are isotopes. The heavy hydrogen is also
known as dueterium.
The hydrogen ion differs from atom by an electon.
When the atomic H loses its outermost electron it becomes a
cation. If it gains an electron it becomes again ion with -
ve charge i.e. anion.
The anion is less stable than the cation.
