Most of fungal activities are harmful symoiotically
(1)Plant diseased:-These are occurred by bacteria, viruses
and cellworms. They destroy field crop, Fruits, Vegetables
crops etc..
(2)Destruction of timber products:-Most of Basidiomycetes
causes decay of heart wood of standing trees
(3)Number of articles:-e.g. clothing tentage, binoculars,
feathers goods, plastics, cameras, photographic films, radio
etc.
(a) Textiles:- These are spoiled by fungi which cause rots
e.g. alternaria, penicillium, mucor etc.
(b) paper:- These are spoiled by fungi which cause rots e.g.
alternaria, penicillium, mucor etc.
(c) Jute:- It is often destroyed by certain fungi e.g.
aspergillus torula.
(d) Leather:- It is destroyed by aspergillus niger.
(e) Rubber:- It is spoiled by aspergillus and pennicilium.
(f) Paint :- Some fungi like rhizopus and torula grow on paints
(g) Petroleum fuels :- Desulphovibro is responsible for
spoiling petroleum fuels.
4. Food spoilage :- Yeast, peniclium a re chief cause of
food spoilage.
(a) Milk cream are spoiled by sp. Of Mucor pennicillium etc.
(b) Fruit and canning industry :- Oranges are destroyed by
pennicilium digitatuns. Bread is spoiled by mucor, meat is
spoiled by mucor.
5. Number of animal diseases are caused by fungi :-
(a) Bakstomsis caused by blastomyces dermitidis.
(b) Coccidiomysis it is disease of Central Nervous system.
(c) Cryptoccosis it is disease of Central Nervous system.
