In chromatography the distance travelled by a particular
component of a mixture is
The ratio of the distance travelled by a component to that
travelled by the solvent front both measured from the
marked point of application of the mixture is called
RESOLUTION FRONT(RF) value for that component.
RF=DISTANCE FROM ORIGIN RUN BY THE COMPOUND/DISTANCE FROM
ORIGIN RUN BY THE SOLVENT
