appendix can be located by Mc Burney's point:
It is located in the right lower quadrant.
draw a line(spinoumbilical line) between umbilicus and right
anterior superior iliac spine. the junction of lateral 1/3
and medial 2/3 is the Mc Burney's point. tenderness at this
point is a sign of appendicitis.
Here is the base of appendix.
* incision must be done parallel to the blood vessels,
external oblique muscle fibers and nerves(obliquely)...to
avoid excessive bleeding and nerve injuries in operation.
