How can proteins be denatured and renatured?

Answer Posted / sravani namireddy

Protein teritiary structure is stabilized by DISULPHIDE
bonds. This disulphide bonds get broken when treated with
physical and chemical treatments such as X-rays, UV light,
heat, alcohol, urea, enzymes, detergents etc and the
polypeptide chain uncoils.Because of this action proteins
are denatured and get renatured mean return to original
state on slow reoxidation which is renaturation.
