There is a field inside that there is a rectangular grass
field with dimension 12X8 meter. One horse is tied at one
corner of the grass field with a rope of 10 Mtrs. Horse is
not allowed to enter the grass field .How much area it will
graze?
Answer Posted / pulkit mittal
If we consider that there is probability of the horse
grazing outside the grass field, then the area the horse can
graze without entering the grass field is 242.9 sq.m.
the area of circle due to rope is 314 sq.m.
in this the part intersected by the rectangle has to be
removed. in the rectangle, there is triangle formed, which
occupies area=24 sq.m.
and a pie region, of angle 54 degrees, accounting of the
area=15*3.14(3*3.14/20*10*10)
net answer is 314-24-47.1=242.9 sq.m.
