it is an acidic chloride,colourless gas resambling green
corn.
it liquifies at 8 degrees centigrade.

it is heavier than air.extensively used in gas warfare in
world war 1,causes 80% of deaths.

phosgene is also implicated in bhopal tragedy.

phosgene is used in the synthesis of
isocyanates,polyurethrane,polycarbonate resins,aniline
dyes,plastics and insecticides.
