explain the working of monochromator unit?
Answer Posted / anil
as name suggests monochromator resolves polycromatic
radiation into its indivisual wavelengths and isolates these
wave lengths into very narrow bands.
it consists of an entrance slit which allows polychromatic
light.a colliminating device such as lens or mirror which
colliminates polychromatic light on the dispersion device.a
wave length resolving device like a prism r grating which
breaks the radiation into component wavelengths.a focussing
lens and a exit slit which allows the monochromatic beam.
