osphradium is a putative chemosensory organ of aquatic
mollusc.Transmitter-specific sensory cell types like those
discovered in the osphradium are also present as single
neuroepithelial cells in other organs of the mantle complex
in prosobranchs and in the pelecypod Anodonta cygnea.
