WHAT HAPPEN IF GENERATOR TURBINE IF TRIP?

Answer

When Turbine trips, the dc excitation voltage which is
applied to the rotor through slip ring also trips,so no
excitation was there in the rotor means no flux cutting in
the stator.So generating voltage will be zero. So it will
nither act as generator nor as a motor. Its simply rotate &
due to moment of inertia,it will come to zero in short time.

why transmission lines using 220KV.

Answer

Transmission lines uses higher kV, only to reduce
transmission losses like I2R losses,capacitive,inductive
losses & at higher kV as current is low,so diameter of cu
wire becomes small,which is cost effective also.These are
the main reason for using higher kV.
