Question { Process Control Technologies, 13765 }
Why do we use triad cable for RTD to Temp.transmitter connection? Why we don't use 3 core cable?
Answer
A triad cable consists of multiple triads, each triad consisting of three conductors(which are twisted together) along with a shied. The fact that the wires are twisted ,and the presence of a shield makes the signal carried by a triad cable less prone to external noise.
A core cable on the other hand consists of individual conductors.The absence of any kind of mechanism to prevent the noise from affecting the signal, makes them unsuitable for carrying any form of analog signal.
If you use a core cable to connect your RTD to the transmitter ,you would get the temperature readings, but it will be susceptible to noise, which is not desirable.
Do let me know if you come across any other reason.
