what are the differences between product branch
qualification as well as product qualification !!! if a
product branch supports more than a product then what is
the QA strategy towards the same
Answer / Ravi Ranjan Singh
Product Branch Qualification (PBQ) and Product Qualification (PQ) have different scopes and objectives:
1. **Product Branch Qualification (PBQ)**: PBQ is performed to verify that a specific branch of the product, usually related to a new feature or bug fix, is functioning as expected. It's done before merging the changes into the main branch.
2. **Product Qualification (PQ)**: PQ is performed on the final, fully integrated product to ensure it meets all functional and non-functional requirements.
If a product branch supports more than one product, the QA strategy would be as follows:
1. Create separate test cases for each product supported by the branch.
2. Test each product independently to verify its functionality.
3. Identify any cross-product dependencies and ensure they are properly tested.
4. Document any issues or bugs found and work with the development team to resolve them.
