property of there own creators:)

cisco supports both ISL and dot1q encapsulation
other vendors only use dot1q encapsulation

one server is down it doen't display anything what you do?
You try "ping server1" and you get "no answer from server1". Why ? (assume that your machine resolved the name correctly).
You are using DNS only for name resolution. If the primary server is not responding (down), which "condition" (nsswitch.conf) does this situation fall in?
