the Guptas' reign began in around 240 ad by Sri Gupta. he
had a son, Chandragupta(not to be confused with Chandragupta
Maurya, the founder of the Maurya Dynasty),who is considered
the real founder of the Gupta empire. His grandson,
Chandragupta II , also known as Vikramaditya, is considered
the greatest ruler of the empire. he had established
friendly relationships with the Rashtrakutas in the
deccan(headed by Dantidurga)
